NASA Testing HERMeS Solar-Powered Propulsion System

16 March 2017
The Daily Mail features new images released by NASA that show testing of the Hall Effect Rocket with Magnetic Shielding (HERMeS) propulsion system at the agency’s Glenn Research Center. NASA plans to pair the Hall rocket with solar electric propulsion (SEP) systems to achieve fuel efficiency up to 10 times that of current chemical propulsion technology, with double the thrust. NASA plans to use several of the Hall thrusters for the planned Asteroid Redirect Robotic Mission. (Image Credit: NASA)
